Neptune Youth Group runs sailing programmes for young people
from the local area, the group meets 3 nights a week and a number
of other events are held throughout the year. The group aims to
help young people develop their sailing skills in a safe and fun
environment with qualified RYA qualified instructors.

Junior Adventure Water
Sports (JAWs) @ Woodbridge |
JAWs is a youth water sports groups that runs kayaking, canoeing,
sailing & power boating sessions on a Wednesday evening during
the season for young people from the local area. The group kayak
/ canoe every week and sail and / or powerboat when the tides allow.
The group operates from Deben Water Sports Centre by the Model
Boat Pond in Woodbridge.

Felixstowe Ferry Youth
Sailing |
Based at Felixstowe Ferry Sailing Club, sail training is offered
for young peoples aged between 11 and 18. Within the framework
of the RYA training schemes dinghy sail training, powerboat training
and race training for young people is provided in a great location
using a wide range of dinghies and powerboats.

Waveney & Oulton Broad
Yacht Club – Junior Club |
The junior sailing evening started last year for the first time,
to encourage more of our young members onto the water during the
week. It takes place on a Tuesday evening from 18:00 onwards and
all members from 8 to 18 are welcome. In 2009 the club is due to
start on the 21st April 2009. The cost per person for the evening
is £4 per child. No previous sailing experience is necessary.
At the end of each block of weeks we will be having a BBQ for both
parents and children. We aim to have 3 blocks of 5/6 weeks throughout

Lowestoft District Canoe
Club |
A friendly voluntary canoe and kayak club
which has a thriving junior section and welcomes all new comers
both young and old. The club operate from Nicholas Everitt Park
in Oulton Broad and they primarily paddle on the Broads but also
have a number of trips to other venues.

Young People Afloat
(YPA) |
Young People Afloat (YPA) teaches dinghy sailing at Lackford Sailing
Base every Wednesday evening starting in May and ending in September.
This is a youth group for young people between the ages of 9 and
18, and is an Royal Yachting Association recognised teaching centre.
All the instructors and safety boat drivers are RYA qualified.
Members are only enrolled at the beginning of the season and due
to the group’s popularity, there is often a waiting list
for membership. If you are interested and would like your child
to join, then please visit the website for further details and

adults who are keen to get involved. Many of the groups can help
to support you to gain further experience and nationally recognised
