RYA Level 2 Power Boat Course

Course Duration: 2 Days

Minimum Age: 16

Course Content:
This is an introductory course to power boating and will provide students with skills in basic handling & manoeuvring, launching & recovery, high speed handling, boat preparation and checks, boat types, engine types.

RYA Safety Boat Course

Course Duration: 2 Days

Minimum Age: 16

Course Content:
Boat handling, rescue techniques for sailing dinghies, windsurfers, and canoes, towing and capsize recovery. It is ideal for those looking to help organisations to provide fleet support / rescue cover.

Prior knowledge or Qualifications: RYA Power Boat Level 2 and a working knowledge of sailing boats or windsurfers.

RYA Power Boat Instructor Course

Course Duration: 3 Days

Minimum Age: 18

Course Content:
The course will cover principles of practical instruction, lesson planning, teaching styles, use of questioning, preparation and use of visual aids, assessment of student’s learning, explanation and presentation of theory subjects, the structure of the scheme, planning progressive teaching sessions, preparation of boats and equipment, teaching methods to Level 2.

Prior knowledge or Qualifications: Candidates must have logged at least 5 seasons experience of driving power boats or have used power boats for a year as an integral part of their full time job role. All candidates must hold the RYA Level 2 Power Boat certificate and hold a current First Aid certificate.
