Oulton Broad LogoOulton Broad Water Sports Centre is situated in the Broads National Park, a very picturesque and popular part of East Anglia and is an ideal venue for beginners to learn and participate in the safe environment of the Broads. The centre staff are dedicated to providing high quality instruction, support to enhance individual personal development, the centre provides all safety equipment, classroom, changing and shower facilities.

Sailing

The sailing fleet consists of Optimists, Toppers, Lasers, 420s & Wayfarers dinghies, providing craft to suit all ranges of ability.

The Centre offers a programme of Junior and Adult RYA certificated courses for beginners and the more experienced sailor, as well as non-certificated ‘fun’ and improver sessions. Groups are managed on a maximum ratio of one instructor to 6 students. Buoyancy aids are provided to all visitors.

Canoeing

The canoeing fleet includes Open Canadian style canoes and single closed cockpit Kayaks. The Centre can offer all levels of canoeing and kayaking from taster and fun sessions to courses leading to a BCU qualification. Groups are managed on a maximum ratio of one instructor to 8 students. Paddles and buoyancy aids are provided.

Land Based Activities

The centre is ideally placed for groups planning activity days or educational visits. This could be environmental studies, field trips, orienteering or other cross-curricular activities, perhaps in combination with a water sports session.

The Centre has a large classroom with presentation and teaching aids and adjoining kitchen facilities. Powered support craft are available which can be used to transport groups around the local Broad for nature studies, walks or fieldwork. There is also a grassed area adjacent to the centre and the main park is only a short walk away.

The centre is situated in the Village of Oulton Broad to the West of Lowestoft. It is easily accessible from the A12, Ipswich to Gt Yarmouth road.
